    What meals are included in a chalet company catered chalet holiday?

    When it comes to catered ski chalets, the catering is important! Below, we clarify what meals are included in a Chalet Company catered ski holiday. You’ll also find links to our sample menu, vegan menu, vegetarian menu, catering for kids and much more.

    To summarise, for a week’s stay in one of our catered chalets in Méribel, the meals included are:

    • Breakfast (every day of the week)
    • Afternoon tea (every day of the week)
    • Dinner (six days of the week)

     

    Breakfast in our catered chalets

    Breakfast will be provided every day. This will vary between a cooked breakfast (five days a week), a continental breakfast (1 day a week) and a help-yourself, cold breakfast buffet on your chalet staff’s day off. Please do speak to our team in advance if you have any allergies or preferences.

    In our chalets, cooked breakfast could be anything from healthy scrambled eggs or an omelette, to a proper bacon butty (maybe after a big session at après!). Your continental breakfast and cold buffet breakfasts in the chalet will be a delicious spread, including local bread, croissants and pastries. In addition, you’ll have fruit, yoghurt, granola and cereals. Breakfasts (at home and in a catered ski chalet!) are very much subject to personal preference – so please do let your chalet staff know what you will/won’t want throughout the week.

    Afternoon tea in our catered chalets

    Post-skiing, you will also be provided with delicious home-baked cakes or cookies every day. This is one of the best things about the catered-chalet experience! Again, we can fully cater for all kinds of dietary preferences, or allergies – as long as we are given plenty of notice.

    You could expect everything from the classics like Victoria sponge, carrot cake and chocolate brownies, to Welsh cakes, triple-choc cookies, apricot flapjacks and millionaire’s shortbread.

    Dinner in our catered chalets

    Our chefs will prepare delicious, four-course menus, five days a week. The fourth course will alternate between mouth-watering canapés and a delicious cheeseboard. On a further evening, you will be supplied with a traditional Savoyard raclette. If you have a specific dinner in mind, or even a special occasion – let us know in good time, and our chalet staff will accommodate.

    You’ll enjoy canapés in the chalet like tapenade toasts, garlic mushroom and brie melts, and sweet potato cakes with mint yoghurt dip…

    These will warm your tastebuds up nicely for starters like beetroot and red onion tart tatin, warm goat’s cheese and fig salad or butternut squash soup with crispy sage.

    Our wonderful main courses range from hearty beef stroganoff and duck a l’orange with lentils, to delicious katsu curries, fresh risottos and wild mushroom pappardelle.

    If you still have space, the desserts in our chalets won’t disappoint: spiced fruit, lemon possets and brandy snaps will cleanse the palette, while baked cheesecake or sticky toffee pudding will completely satisfy you!

    For the evenings when you don’t have a canapé selection, you can expect a platter of French cheeses. These vary, and we like to keep things as local as possible, but you can expect a mixture of hard, soft, blue and goat’s or sheep’s cheese. Luckily, the French do a pretty good job of the ol’ fromage!

    An exciting addition to your week’s dining is the Raclette night. Raclette is an Alpine cheese that is traditionally melted under a heat lamp or element, until it is oozing and the edges begin to bubble and crisp. It’s then smothered over a selection of potatoes, bread and charcuterie. It’s incredible more-ish!

    Chalet staff day off

    On the one evening of the week, where our staff won’t be catering for you, you are lucky that Méribel has an amazing array of restaurants and excellent takeaways. If there is something specific you fancy, we’d be more than happy to advise/recommend. For insurance reasons, we ask guests not to use the kitchen on the staff day off for cooking. A kettle and toaster will be made available for you so you can enjoy breakfast and afternoon tea.
